Since the suspension of Home Information Packs, properties for marketed or non-marketed sale only require an Energy Performance Certficate (EPC) which is valid for 10 years. A property can only be marketed for sale after an EPC has been commissioned and provided the EPC is available within a period of 28 days.Landlords still require an EPC for rental property and the EPC is also valid for a period of 10 years.
